We were supposed to go to Lake Minnetonka Regional Park last week for Nature Kids. We did, but it was pouring rain and the visitor's center NEVER opens, we were informed. Since the beach was out of the question and the park was questionable in the rain, we decided to try our luck at Gale Woods Farm, only a few miles away. Sally and Susan were there with their kids and had an "in" to the barns, an old friend of Sally's (the guy in the blue shirt with the dog) who took us on a behind the scenes tour. The sun came out and we enjoyed a picnic in the teaching garden. What a fun place! Chickens, turkeys, a dog, cows, a cat, a turtle... and there are other animals we didn't even see.Fun watching chickens lay eggs!
Just the gals in the hen house.

The cat and turtle (in the distance) that we saw after lunch.

An outdoor sink/handwashing station. Very cool!
