Please join us for the end of the summer send-off! We are having a very nature-filled day at the Richardson Nature Center at the Hyland Nature Preserve. No swimming this time, kiddies, so just pack your lunches and comfortable clothes to walk and play in.
Meet us at 10:00 a.m. at the Richardson Nature Center. We hope to do some nature discovery with one of their lending library's Nature Kits in addition to a hike.
The Nature Center is located at 8737 East Bush Lake Road in Bloomington. Check out the website for more information.
"Richardson Nature Center is the largest of the Three Rivers nature centers. Inside, enjoy colorful clay mosaics by artist Chris Tully that cover the exhibit area walls, view interpretive displays, visit live animals and raptors, or observe birds in our backyard wildlife viewing area.
The interpretive area surrounding the building features hiking trails that weave between diverse habitats, including marshes, oak forests and restored prairie. Along the trails, visitors might spot some of the varied wildlife that live in the park, such as deer, fox, coyote, muskrats, and turkeys. Many species of birds can be observed in Hyland Park seasonally. Cell phone audio stops, trail guides, exploration kits and interpretive signs are available throughout the park.
The Nature Exploration Area encourages free play in the outdoors. Children can explore, dig and build while adults play along or observe nearby."
Please let Korie or Jenn know if you are planning on joining us!
